You're No Good

Just a quick non-beauty related post, I cannot get enough of this song! My favourite genre of music is house, that doesn't mean it's all loud, banging beats, I love this song because it's so chilled out and the vocals are gorge. I'm heading back to liverpool soon so this really gets me in the mood for it. I actually first heard it in River Island - they play amazing music!

Have a lovely day, regardless of the rain! xxx

New year shopping

Hello lovelies! I know I haven't posted in a ridiculous amount of time but I have still been following all my favourite blogs when I've found the time. Blogging has always been a hobby for me, and recently university and working has eaten up all my time so of course, blogging had to take a back seat. The work load for next semester has eased and hopefully I'll find more time to write about my favourite things.

I hope you all had a fabulous new year, every year I go shopping on new years day and this year was no different. I had a boots gift card to spend so picked up the eco tools brush set that included a blush brush, slanted eyeliner brush, concealer brush, blending brush and a brow grooming brush for £15.99 and a foundation brush for £7.99. I'm sure some of you will be appalled to know these are my first brushes, other than a tatty maybeline blush brush I've had for years. I've heard great things about them and they are oh so soft. The silly check out lady accidently scanned the foundation brush twice, meaning I only paid £7.99 for the set - bonus. I also picked up B blonde highlighting kit for brunettes. I recently had my hair stripped from black and I'm now a hazelnut brown with blonde highlights and I've heard this kit is amazing for home highlights and is a fraction of a salon price. Next stop was superdrug where I picked up their own brand brow waxing strips which I absolutely swear by. I am very fussy with my eyebrows, I fill them and shape them myself and for £1.99 these wax strips do a fantastic job for getting rid of stray hairs.

I've always stuck to the same make up routine for my day face and my night face, swapping between eyeliner or lipstick but nothing more. I've only recently seen how much contouring can shape the face so I picked up sleek's contour kit in light. Although I fake tan regularly and would not consider myself pale, I thought the medium kit was too dark and would end up bronzing me up instead of contouring - not the look I want. I can't wait to try this out. Lastly, I picked up MUA's dupe for the naked palette; undressed. I'm a big fan of the heaven and earth palette, very similar, but I really wanted this palette so I can follow some youtube tutorials based on it. I picked up some pajamas and loads of new underwear, new look and primark have some really good sales on at the mo! I restrained myself from treating myself to Topshop's geek tee.. maybe next time.

Have you picked up anything from the sales? xxx

Meet my bunnies

My dad brought these little cuties back from an auction yesterday. All we know is that they are girls, no idea of ages or breed but I think they're sisters. Penelope is the largest, she's shy and a bit more timid than Poppy.  Although they have both been handled well and don't bite or run away, Poppy is the most curious and confident. All they came in was a tiny box, in which they'd pee'd loads, obviously scared and bewildered in a cramped box :( I made them comfortable with hay, water, carrots and a nice big box until we get a hutch. We have no idea if they're vaccinated so that's costing £45 for both, eek. They're adorable and I've found myself so attached! They potter round, always close to eachother, they snuggle up at night and groom one and other. Cute <3

A pick me up from the snow fairy

Nobody can resist Lush's amazing Snow Fairy shower gel for body and hair. It transforms your bathroom into a land of candy floss and bubblegum, leaving skin smelling edible and moisturised. Sadly, you can only pick it up at Christmas and some of us where silly enough to not stock up. Anywho, ebay to the rescue. I bagged a 250ml bottle for £6 including postage. Sometime you can pay a small sum more than the retail price because snow fairy can be 'rare' so to speak. But if you're looking for something limited edition then ebay could be your best bet. I even spotted a 500ml bottle on a blog sale for £5.50 with postage, I couldn't resist so snapped it up. These will of course last me till Christmas :) Just be sure to check expiry dates, lush are known to steer clear of preservatives so I try to use up my products before the use by date (never hard cos they smell AMAZING) xox

Glossy Pink Hunters!

My beautiful hunter wellies arrived today and I adore them. I think I love them more than my uggs - shock horror. Hunter wellies are all over the place at the moment, practical and perfect for the changing weather, and sported by celebs. I placed the order yesterday and opted for next day delivery from Amazon which is free if you take some trial blah blah blah. I opened them carefully and it was love at first sight. I'm so glad I chose the glossy type, I don't think the original wellies would quite cut it for me, and of corse I picked pink because I'm such a girly girl. I bought these with the intention of wearing them as a regular boot, not for a festival or anything involving mud. I think they're so trendy and look great with a blazer and a pair of skinnys. They are a lovely baby pink, or 'cherry blossom', with a glossy shine and came complete with a little booklet that includes care info and bits and bobs. I'd recommend them to anybody just for the way they look - gorgeous! Some people can't justify spending so much on a pair of wellies but they have grown into a statement shoe and can be worn whenever, wherever!
